My last blog subject was about outsourcing corporate events. Since I wrote that blog, I began to think more deeply into this topic. Often we talk about helping our client strategize and think that this is the answer. What occurred to me is that an in house person responsible for meetings and events, no matter what their title might be feels that they have strategized effectively and don’t want an interloper telling them either how to strategize or to do that for them.
Reading several things on the web this week, I now see that the key word is not strategy, but solutions.
Therefore, Company A, Not For Profit B or Association C feels that they know what their strategy and objectives are. Third party companies need to be seen as an event management solution provider. People want solutions. It’s that simple!
